Heather Boucher, CNM
Heather Boucher joined High Country Health Care Summit Ob/Gyn in 2005. As the county’s first and only Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) she provides full scope women’s health care including both obstetrical and gynecological services. Heather also acts as surgical assist for cesarean sections and gyn surgeries.
Heather grew up in Westchester County, outside of New York City, but fell in love with Summit County when she first came here in 1995. In 1999 she returned to New York City to attend Columbia University where she received both her Masters in Nursing and Masters in Public Health. After working for over three years in a busy inner-city hospital in the South Bronx Heather decided it was time to return to the mountains and a more intimate community.
As a Certified Nurse Midwife Heather encourages women to take an active role in making the right health care decisions for themselves and their families. Realizing these choices are often based on cultural and personal preferences Heather enjoys taking the time to educate and inform her patients.
When Heather’s not seeing patients in the office or birthing babies at the hospital you can find her doing one of the many activities that brought her back to Summit County—riding her bike, hitting the slopes, or cross country skiing with her dogs. |
